We all know that grieving is an automatic and natural reaction to the death of a loved one. A whole gamut of emotions often is expressed and experienced at various stages of grief (e.g. anger, numbness, guilt, sadness, depression, loneliness, and perplexity). The emotions may often jumble together and often feels overwhelming. Here at Amavi Home Health and Hospice Care Services, our motto is, ”Our Heart Is In Your Home.” In other words, we continue to care for families who have lost loved ones. We provide a special Bereavement Care Plan where for 13 months, our Bereavement Coordinator helps you deal with the grief you feel about your loved one’s death. This is done through various mailings that contain positive grief support information along with counseling services through phone calls and monthly support groups. Our Spiritual Care Chaplains and MSW’s have also provided positive bereavement support before and after a patient’s passing. Please remember that we never look at one’s grief and cry for grief as a problem or even a sign of weakness. Rather, it is simply a natural feeling, and one that is easier to cope with once a person gets the support they need.
